Snowy Days and Baby Bumps

Roanoke had the biggest snow of the decade this weekend.  We have about 16" out where we live.  It started snowing yesterday at 2 and it's still flurrying outside a bit now.  Matt and I both came home early from work - and were happy to make it home safe. Plenty of cars and trucks were scattered around the roads and still are this evening.  It's pretty nasty out.

We're staying in for now - except the occasional dog walk. The dogs aren't too happy, especially Jane, about the snow being over their heads.

See pictures of the dogs  in the snow here: Snow Dog Pictures

And, by request, if you want to check out the every growing baby belly then follow the link below.  Its updated every Friday or Saturday with a new photo.

Baby Belly!

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas!  Everyone have a great weekend and for everyone in Roanoke - be safe out there!

And baby makes three!

Surprise!!!!  We're pregnant! Well Kelly is at least!  Some of your knew - others didn't - we wanted to wait until after our first appointment to make sure all was well before spilling the beans!  It's our little honeymoon baby.

We had our first OB appointment today and it was pretty amazing!  The baby is 8 weeks and 6 days.  It has a really strong heartbeat of 179!!  It was kicking it's little legs around for us which was really sweet and was also very comforting -- don't know how 'comforting' that will be a few weeks when it's kicking ribs and kidneys, but for now - very comforting!

We were told baby is very very healthy and so far it's a perfect pregnancy! Kelly was sick for only about 2 weeks around Thanksgiving and now she's feeling great - hopefully that'll stick around!

The due date is July 16, 2010 :)

We are so excited!!  It's a pleasant surprise! Both sets of new "grandparents" are excited as well... "Grandpa" Simmons won't show it, but we know he is! ;)  All the great grandparents are thrilled too!

We apologize for not posting recently - we found out at the beginning of November and since then we've been so busy plus we were so anxious for everyone to know the good news that we didn't have anything to say that was nearly exciting!!  We'll try and post some additional updates such as photos from Halloween, Christmas decorations, etc soon!

Click here to see more photos of Baby Anderson - there is a 3D image that they took at the doctors as well - you can see little legs and arms!

Funny dogs and Micheal Jackson???

Well it's two days before Halloween, and looks who's been spotted...

Matt had his office halloween party on Thursday - and chose to portray the late Micheal Jackson -

See the rest of the photos here:

And who dresses up like Micheal Jackson and DOESN'T dance around to Billie Jean in their living room??  Not Matt....

Oh, and lastly, here is a cute video of the dogs and a foam rubber pillow:

Autumn in VA....

Matt and I had a fairly busy weekend - we took my grandparents out for the good part of the day on Saturday - to go shopping and have lunch.  That night we went with my parents to the Moneta Drive-In Theater and watched a double feature.

We saw:

"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs":  GREAT movie - we were laughing so hard we cried!  It was awesome... a kids movie but definatly appeals to adults as well. 4 thumbs up!

"Zombieland":  Waste of time... we were told it would be funny - Matt thought it was.... it was pretty gross, and had no plot line. Two thumbs down, two thumbs (Matts) up.

Sunday we FINALLY got the apartment cleaned!!  WOOHOO!  We even had time to take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway to look at the fall colors.  We drove up towards the Peaks of Otter.

See the photos from parkway below:

We have three videos from the drive:

We have posted some pictures of our apartment for you guys to see.  It's not much - but we've done what we can.  This is only the kitchen, dining room, living room, and the hall bathroom. It's decorated for fall:

Haning up TVs and other boring stuff we do on the weekends....

This past weekend we decided to crack down and finish cleaning/organizing the apartment.  Matt has been wanting to hang his TV for about 2 years now - so I finally gave in, being the sweet wife I am!  So after a 2 hour trip to Target... all much to my delight as I got to get a new vacuum... he started working on hanging the TV above our fancy electric fireplace, haha.

So while he hung the TV, I watched him hang the TV, the dogs ran around eating things they shouldn't have, and nothing else got done.  Well... except for this incredibly boring video I took of Matt hanging the TV.

Click here to watch Matt hang his TV (we won't be offended if you don't... haha):

We did manage to move the bookshelf into the living room and Matt bought conduit (which I mistakenly called convolute all weekend, which is a word I've heard my mom use when I was little, and I'm pretty sure it was about me) to hide the wires and made it all look fairly presentable.

NOTE:
Verb
1.
convolute - curl, wind, or twist together
cause (a plastic object) to assume a crooked or angular form; "bend the rod"; "twist the dough into a braid"; "the strong man could turn an iron bar"

2.
convolute - practice sophistry; change the meaning of or be vague about in order to mislead or deceive; "Don't twist my words"

Needless to say, I didn't get to use my new vacuum... so that means we have plans already for next weekend. Can't wait! :)

And hopefully, next weeks posts won't be such a snoozefest!

Matt and Kelly

Now that the honeymoons over...

Things are beginning to become normal again for us now that the wedding is behind us. We are both back at work, back to making dinner again rather than eating out because we finally have time to do so, and most of the wedding stuff has been packed up and we are breaking in all of our new kitchenware!

This past weekend we took Putter and Jane to Dogtoberfest... a fairly large dog festival put on by Saint Francis of Assisi.  It was Janes first festival, and although we thought she would freak out because of her utter hatred of other dogs, she actually did really well!  We took Putter into the agility course and he loved it.  We are thinking about signing him up for agility classes since he seemed to like it.

You can watch a video of Putter doing the course here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srZn3d1WiLc and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLGIJbFF8UU

On Sunday we went with Kelly's parents (Nathan and Rhonda) to a pumpkin patch in Floyd, VA.  There we did the hayride out to the pumpkin patch and picked out our pumpkins for this year and we went through the corn maze, which took forever, but was fun.

We're Married!!! 9.26.2009

Finally, after 5 years, we're married!

We had our wedding last Saturday, 9/26/09, here in Virginia. It was incredible! It rained... no poured.... the entire time, but noone seemed to mind. We are so grateful to have been able to have both of our families there, including family from VA, IL, and TX.

Both of us agree that our wedding was more wonderful that we could ever imagined it to be, and we want to thank our parents and family for all their help, and our friends for all coming out! We planned it in two months, so we were both nervous that it wouldn't come together, but it did!! The flowers were great, the food was great, the dancing was great, and the ceremony was wonderful! We will hopefully be posting photos as soon as they start coming in. We posted one for you guys to see.

Our wedding day was truly the happiest day of our lives
